I Rise from the Diaper Ashes

Well well well, look who's back. Your old pal Chris Allen. I haven't been keeping this blog active at all for quite some time now but hey I've had a good excuse. September 29, 2015 my son Zavier Imram Esmail Allen was born. He's been a life changer to say the least. At some point I stopped thinking I would be a Dad but then I met Almira and fell in love and we magically had this kid. So ya needless to say Comedy took a backseat for me the past 8 months or so. However things have settled down, he's going to bed around 8:30PM every night and my now wife Almira is blessing my return to the stage. I was selected to be on SiriusXM's Canada's Next Top Comic show. This is the 3rd time I've done the show and frankly I'm shocked. I'm rusty as hell from inactivity but the upside is I have a boatload of new material. I have about one month to get ready so I'm hitting shows. Last night I checked out Standup and Deliver at the Seven Lounge. Wow there are a lot of new comics. I was slotted about 35th on the night and I just didn't have it in me to stick it out till midnight. I'm going to try another open mic tonight at Benny's Bagels and see if I have more luck. Anyway expect to see me on stage more again soon. I'm booking a bunch of shows between now and then.
